Number of household in Emalahleni
The above figure show the number of households have increased from 119 874 in 2011 to 150 420 in 2016, which is an increase of more than 30 000 households – household size declining from 3.3 to 3.0 in the same period. The 150420 number of households represent 35, 7% of the households in Nkangala District. The increase could be due to new house built by Provincial Department of Human Settlements.
Accelerated service delivery is the key. Strong collaboration between the municipality, relevant national, provincial departments and Public Entities in prioritising building of houses should be considered.
