PUBLIC COMMENTS ON EMALAHLENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY DRAFT INDIGENT AND PAUPER BURIAL POLICY

Notice is hereby given that, in terms of Section 152, subsection (1) (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (1996), read in conjunction with Chapter 4, Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (No.32 of 2000), the Emalahleni Local Municipality invites all stakeholders and Interested and Affected Parties to submit written comments on the ELM Draft Indigent And Pauper Burial Policy. The purpose of this policy is as follows :

To provide clear guidelines for persons eligible to be buried as a pauper/ indigent and procedures to be followed in obtaining permission from Council for the burial.

Stakeholders, Interested and Affected Parties are invited to submit written comments on the Draft ELM Draft Indigent and Pauper Burial Policy via email or hand delivery to the Municipal offices (Records Office, 2nd floor) Corner Arras and Mandela Street, not later than 16 April 2021. Copies of the Draft ELM Draft Indigent and Pauper Burial Policy may be obtained from municipal offices or downloaded from the municipal website: www.emalahleni.gov.za
