As Matric exams start this week – the Executive Mayor Councillor Linah Malatjie wishes to remind all matric students that they are the first student to write the exam in the very difficult time.
This exams will mark the culmination of an academic year like no other, following the devastating impact of COVID-19.
The year 2020 has taught matriculants to be independent and responsible students. They had to adapt in real-time, not just to finish the curriculum, but to catch up with the learning hours lost.
Though some had access to online learning platforms and other resources, many had to struggle with access to learning material and teaching.”
It is that time of year once again when we see the fruits of our labour as another cohort of Grade 12 learners prepare to write the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations of 2020.
This is the culmination of 12 years of hard work by all involved in the education system and we know too well what a stressful time it can be in the life of a learner.
I would like to wish the Class of 2020 the best of luck for this year’s National Senior Certificate Examinations.
