EXECUTIVE MAYOR’S MESSAGE OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE MATRIC CLASS OF 2024 – CLLR. VJ NHLAPHO

The Executive Mayor, Cllr. V.J Nhlapho takes this opportunity on behalf of the Emalahleni Local Municipality to convey best wishes to the class of 2024 matriculants as they commence with their final exams.

This is a huge milestone of a 12-year schooling career characterised by a constellation of social challenges and adverse economic environment.

It doesn’t matter how you start the journey but what matters most is how you end. Once again as you get set and ready to go to institutions of higher learning similarly you must begin with an “end” in mind because true dreams do come through.

Indeed, it is through education that you can change your personal and family circumstances. It is through education that you can help to sustain the fight and defeat poverty and underdevelopment in your own community.

It remains important for you to put in all your best and crossover your matric bridge with flying colours. Metric certificate is an important building block towards your chosen career ang ultimate goals in life.

We also urge the community members and parents to rally behind our children, encourage them and give them moral support and to lessen the domestic chores. Most importantly we urge tavern owners to monitor noise levels during this period.

It is in this critical stage that you can draw inspiration from the wise words of our former president Nelson Mandela “It always seems impossible until its done”.

We hope and pray that you will be a true ambassador of the Emalahleni community. REMEBER, this community will not judge you by how many times you fall, but you will be judged by the number of times you were able to bounce back.

Good luck and we wish you all the best.

Bon Voyage!
